4 Homeopathic Remedies for Acne

September 2, 2019

I think you’ll find these homeopathic remedies for acne come in handy.

Now, I’ve taken the word homeopathic and interpreted it quite literally. While I do not claim to be a homeopath in any way shape or form, I certainly rely on natural, home remedies for a lot of my health.

Because homeopathic remedies involve natural elements like essential oils and honey, for example, I believe these to be in line with what a homeopath would typically prescribe – especially when it comes to face issues like acne.

My homeopathic remedies for acne exist because of my desire to share knowledge with you if you need it. If you’ve read some of my other blogs, you may have already picked up on the history of my face.

While I’ve never had terrible acne, I’ve certainly suffered from bouts of it in my time. I’ve been on prescription medication for it that literally stripped the serotonin from my brain – so finding homeopathic remedies for acne is important to me.

If you’re experiencing a more severe case of acne, I do recommend that you seek the advice of a homeopath – there’s a good chance that they’ll have something a bit stronger that can help manage it.

In the meantime, let’s take a look at my 4 homeopathic remedies for acne.

1. Treat Spots with Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is nature’s spot treater.

Tea tree oil is terrific for naturally helping to clear pimples and spots on your face because it has antibacterial properties. It's also antiseptic and anti-fungal, as well.

To make an acne-fighting mixture with tea tree oil, add 2 or 3 drops to a teaspoon of coconut oil and apply to the problem areas. Because it's natural, you can leave it on for as long as you want – I recommend using this mixture overnight.

My favorite tea tree oil is Art Natural’s Australian Organic Tea Tree Essential Oil. Get yours here.

2. Tone to Restore pH Balance

Now, there are typically two types of toner that I recommend. African Black Soap toner is an excellent option if you're used to buying your toner – I use this a lot because it's excellent for clearing out my pores.

The other great toner option which you may already have lying around your house somewhere is apple cider vinegar. This homeopathic remedy for acne is excellent for killing bacteria that causes acne.

This is because it contains potassium, magnesium and various different enzymes that work hard to eradicate acne-causing bacteria.

Dip a cotton ball into your apple cider vinegar and dap on the face and neck area. I recommend doing this both morning and night. Check out my blog post on the African Black Soap toner.

3. Exfoliate Consistently but Gently

Exfoliation is great for removing dead skin cells and clearing up your skin – but you want to make sure you do it gently. Otherwise, you may end up removing too many layers of the skin, and your face will be unable to protect itself against acne-causing bacteria.

Our third homeopathic remedy for acne is a homemade face mask made out of salt, brown sugar and oatmeal. These excellent ingredients help to remove dead skin while unclogging pores.

You can even add in some coconut oil and lavender essential oil to prevent any scarring from occurring.

Check out my blog post on my recommendation for the best lavender essential oil.

4. Moisturize

If you’re serious about your skin and want to use these homeopathic remedies for your acne, then you’ve got to complete all the steps in the process.

Now, I don’t blame you – I’m not someone who keeps up a vigorous, regular beauty routine every day. But when it’s natural, and it’s fighting acne, I think it’s worth it.

If you've read other blog posts of mine, you'll know that coconut oil is my recommendation when it comes to an effective moisturizer.

This is because coconut oil contains medium-chain fatty acids that work hard to restore the health of your skin while at the same time preventing any acne outbreaks.

Check out my blog post here on coconut oil as the best moisturizer.

When it comes to homeopathic remedies for acne, it’s all about being consistent and persistent.

Trust me, it took a long time for my acne and spots to show any signs of abating. In the meantime, it took hard work and a never-give-up attitude to keep applying these homeopathic remedies before I started to see any real change.

If you’ve got acne and you’re not happy with it, don’t give up. While there are some potent topical and medical acne drugs on the market that may do their job initially, they usually come with terrible side effects that don’t really make it worth it.
